Check out the inspiring journey that has been unfolding over the past two years between Jacob’s Chance and the Breaking Bread Company.
Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities through our Culinary Arts program.
Kendra House, the founder of the Breaking Bread Company, launched this initiative as a heartfelt way to give back to the community through the joy of cooking. For Kendra, helping individuals with disabilities is a deeply personal mission. Partnering with Jacob’s Chance has allowed her to blend her passion for culinary arts with her commitment to helping others.
Through the Culinary Arts program, Kendra has witnessed incredible transformations. Participants have not only honed their cooking skills but have also discovered a new world of flavors and ingredients. “This program brings happiness and joy,” Kendra says, “but it is more than just a fun class. It teaches new skills they can use in their everyday lives and truly showcases their ability to thrive.”
As the demand for our Culinary Arts program continues to grow, so does our vision for its future. We currently have waiting lists for classes, highlighting the urgent need to expand our reach and serve more individuals. Kendra’s dream is to offer additional sessions and accommodate a larger number of participants, further enriching our community.
